Fitting Formalwear for Your Wedding Party

Let’s face it, I have no idea what the big fuss is all about when it comes to wedding planning. I am just the groom. All I really need to know is when and where I need to be so my fiancé Jeanette is not left standing at the alter. The most important thing for me is that she is happy because, when she is happy, things are always much better for me. So here I am, helping as much as a man possibly can when it comes to providing my opinions and input regarding fashion and wedding party attire.

Jeanette has already addressed one of the more difficult decisions – dresses. Her sister Katy and her young daughter Tami will both be in the wedding party. Katy is a bridesmaid and Tami will be our flower girl. We love them both dearly but Tami’s family presented some unique challenges concerning clothing. They have jumped on the “green” bandwagon and changed their entire lifestyle to something along the lines of the Discovery Channel’s “Living with Ed” series. Therein was the challenge: Finding organic formal wear. I do have to say that Jeanette rose to occasion and confronted that challenge with that zealous characteristic that I have come to appreciate and love in her.

Tami will be wearing this beautiful white ball gown that is sure to make her feel like Cinderella herself. A Rhinestone tiara comes with the dress too. I would imagine that any little girl would feel like a princess wearing it. Peals, sequins and beads adorn the dress and it is sure make Tami feel just about as important and as beautiful as the bride on that day. Jeanette was thrilled she found the perfect dress for Tami.

That brings us to my part in all of this wedding attire and fashion thing. While Jeanette was focusing on the dresses for all the bridesmaids and our flower girl, it was my assignment to confront the task of organizing the men and arranging for their tuxedos. Although, I am the first of our “gang” to be married, I was the last to be engaged so the others are all pretty much all lined up to tie the knot within the next 12 months. All us guys decided to purchase our tuxedos because it was a better option than renting them 6 times in the next year. And cheaper too! We found a great designer tuxedo package deal at an affordable price.

My groomsmen and I will be decked out in designer two or three button tuxedos and sporting a designer winged collar shirt (which also happens to be 100% cotton). The package includes the tuxedo and shirt, vest, tie, cuff links and studs and even formal shoes. Pretty spiffy, if you ask me.

Even though planning for wedding party attire and fashion may not be at the top of my list of personal interests, I was quite satisfied to have the task completed. Now I can look forward to the fun stuff, like my bachelor party and my wedding night… and being married to the only woman I know who is willing to put up with me, perhaps?
